Toosday
Today wound up being a cool day. Got up this morning, and Stacey, Kailiyn and I headed to the mall, where Stacey was able to take her turn searching for some clearance clothes. She found some Jeans at Dillard's, then we headed over to Goody's, where we both found some more cheap clothes. Then, we decided we needed some new tennis shoes, so we picked up some at Shoe Carnival.
Okay, it was money spent...I know, I know...but a lot of what we bought was up to like 80% off...woohoo! And now I have more than 3 wearable pairs of jeans...LOL. (and mine go down past my ankles...hehe).
After we shopped, we brought Kailyn home to nap, and Stacey wanted to head back out to the bead shop behind Food World. It was kinda funny...she knew what she wanted to get, but when she walked in there and realized they had like a gazillion beads to browse through, the got a little disoriented and wound up getting nothing....hehe. Next time, we'll beg Wendy to help us navigate the store.
That was pretty much the whole day...until tonight, when I met up with Dave and John Key at the church to talk about small groups. That was a pretty cool meeting. John really has a passion to build small groups that work. So do I, but amidst people's illnesses, traveling, and other issues, it's been difficult to get mine started. Still, I know several people are still committed to making it happen, so I'll start with them...woohoo. I feel that the spiritual dimension in my life (and in the lives of my friends) can be very 'lacking' sometimes, so I hope that people in the church can learn to put busy schedules, hesitations, and any other baggage 'issues' aside so that we can grow together. That's the funny thing about spiritual growth...if you're growing spiritually, all the other crap that usually weighs us down (and, ironically, causes us to neglect spiritual things) becomes easier to deal with.
On a side note, check out my other blog for something else that's been on my mind lately about spiritual things...okay, it's a bit long, but it reads quickly :-).
Anyway, after the meeting, we came home and grilled some burgers on the grill. Mmmm...burgers...
KEY PHRASES: "Why do you have to buy shoes if I buy shoes?" "Hey, look...Jonathan Sparkman IS alive." "I'm only going to buy new clothes until I can fit into all my old ones."
