Another Monday a.m.
Alabama has restored my belief that watching football can be a waste of time. How in the fahrvhergnugen can you lose a 21 point lead?????? After an hour rain delay, double overtime, and a 21-point lead in the 3rd quarter...i expected more. At least the Titans won Sunday...and Tennessee won in overtime...so somebody I care about won. Okay, Auburn beat some beauty college football team in Kentucky, too :-)
Other than that, the weekend went okay. Saturday...more unpacking/moving. Went to the men's breakfast. Brian, John K., Dave, Jack, Dale D., Andy, and Donny were there. Food was GOOD! I enjoy eating a good breakfast once a month. Heck, I enjoy eating breakfast ONCE a month at all.
After b'fast...Brian came over to the new house and I helped him with a video project he's working on. Spent part of the rest of the afternoon installing my new DVD burner and generally getting my PC and Stacey's PC set back up with all their peripherals, etc.
Dave drove to B'ham and got Jordan a rat...er...I mean a dog -- a chihuaha puppy. Actually, it's kind of cute. They showed it to Kailyn, and kept saying "dog," trying to get Kailyn to repeat the word. Kailyn just looked very confused...after all, to her a "dog" is an animal that is taller than her, weighing anywhere from 40 to 80 lbs. (in reference to our huskies and our beast of a golden retriever).
Sunday...holy cow...if it could go wrong Sunday morning, it did. First, laptop A had audio problems. So Dave, goes home to pick up laptop B and a desktop. Laptop B's audio driver's chose not to work, and Dave forgot a keyboard and mouse for the desktop.
On top of this, Jeremy's alarm clock did not go off, so he didn't make it to church until around 10:10, and I'd already spoken to Jonathan Sparkman about subbing if Jeremy didn't show up.
So, with no practice, a song change, a forgivably late percussionist, and a drummer who's never played with us before, we started the worship service on time. In the end, everything went okay musically. I'm very grateful Jeremy made it and I'm grateful that Jonathan S. stepped in to help us out. Now, if we could only work out the technical PC glitches/crashes. Linux, anyone?
Whatever the case, everything turned out fine in the end. Duh...God has a way of making that happen in spite technical "demons."
Jonathan called from Indy Sunday afternoon. He talked about getting the chance to drive a couple of "fast" BMW's around an autocross course. I'm glad for him, and I'm sure he'll be talking to everyone about the fact he got to drive a couple of fast Bimmers for days...er...years to come. WOOT!
Spent Sunday afternoon assembling a dog kennel and working on outdoor lighting... Sunday night, Stacey, Kailyn, and I went to O'Charley's. Yum - Chipotle BBQ salmon is pretty good.
Today? More fun-filled unpacking, cleaning up old house. At least the fence company is supposed to start on my fence today.
Peace out...
