'Thank you...come again..."
This weekend was a pretty busy one, so I've been bad about 'feeding the blogging need' of those that actually read this. But, now that you're undoubtedly starving for an update, here it is. (But read slowly...you don't want to choke or get sick).
FRIDAY - nada...as in..."not a dang thing" happened exciting on Friday. Well, we did go out to eat that night to shatter the boredom that was plaguing the household. Met up at Red Lobster. Saw Wes/Kim, the kids, and Wes' family in there. Funny...we got there after them, got seated in less time, and got our food first.
SATURDAY - OMG. Let's just say that 30+ year old toilets have a way of breaking when you're trying to fix them. Yes, if you haven't already read about this exciting day in J-mo's blog, then you're missing out. In short, what should've been a happy, simple 1 hour project at J-mo's house turned into an all day event with the tightening of a screw. Really, I didn't do it... Well, after that screw was tightened...water flowed, porcelain cracked, water spewed, J-mo "cursed" (over and over)... Maybe years later, the whole thing will be remembered as a funny moment. But not yet... Still, we finally got his new toilet installed, but left a lot of other things he wanted help with undone.
SUNDAY - After a downright terrifying warm-up, things came together. Everything sounded good, the crowd engaged the music, etc., etc. I love it when a plan comes together. Spent Sunday afternoon cleaning for small group, then had small group. Good turnout...even Am-baer showed up!
Yes, life is speeding up (yet again). And even though this weekend passed fast and had its rough spots, it turned out to be a good one. I really like the momemtum building in the group - both spiritually and relationally. Life be good.
KEY PHRASES: "Anything that involves changing a 'wax ring' can't be fun." "Did you ever see that scene in Superman where the dam burst? Well, it's more terrifying in real life." "Like he could 'really' kick my butt." "What sin do you struggle with? answer: 'Orgies.' " (LOL).
