An Unreal Day
No, that's not just a reference to the fact that Unreal Tournament 2004 comes out today for us game geeks...of Battlefield: Vietnam... I sense some life-sucking gaming in my near future...
Really, "an unreal day" is a reference to yesterday...which turned out to be pretty good. In spite of being busy at points, etc., it was pretty cool.
Other than working on music for Sunday, I ran some errands. Went to Home Depot for furnace filters, and ran into John Key up there. He said he was out "loafing." Kailyn had a good time pointing to every light fixture she saw in the store, but you can only hear a child say the word "light" so many times before you get a headache...hehe.
Last night, as usual, we went to the Guad. J-mo, Stacey, Kailyn, Kyle, Eli, and Emma. It was very laid back and a lot of fun. To watch Kyle 'get his feet wet' in holding Kailyn was a lot of fun, too. Read his blog (Musings from the Root) to really get an idea of how cool that was.
Walked around afterwards. Went by EBgames, where J-mo and I reserved copies of UT. Went around to Sears, where we ran into Tania and Andrea. Then, back to Dillards for a little more shopping.
Really, it wasn't all the "what we did" that was so cool. It was just fun to hang out with each other and enjoy the company and the laughter. After all, we WERE in the Decatur mall...which isn't exactly the epicenter of excitement in North Alabama. But...with the occasional (um...frequent) wise crack, Eli's interference with J-mo's flirting efforts, and Kyle's newfound 'comfort' around children, it was a pretty cool evening.
It's amazing the kind of fun you can have when you don't let the issues of life consume you. Woooooo....
KEY PHRASES: "Hey, that looks kinda like a giant toilet. Someone sit on it so we can get a picture." (LOL). Eli: "I think I hurt my back attempting gymnastics." J-mo: "Anything YOU want to demonstrate??" Eli (to thwart J-mo's flirt efforts: "Don't let the baby fool you."
